Hebrews 12:1-29

Run the Christian Race with Endurance

Believers in Jesus Christ are challenged to run with endurance the race of faith. No one likes to see a runner drop out of a race. The great heavenly celebration will come at the final judgment. For the believer it will be a day of triumph and celebration. The writer of Hebrews gives strong words of encouragement to endure as runners in the race.

Commitment to fulfill God’s Call

Commitment to fulfill God’s Call

Commitment

Let us have the Commitment to fulfill God’s Call
Ps 24:6-9

6Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah 7 Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! 9Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Here we are asked to lift up our heads in other words wake up from your sleep. God has great things for us to restore and to be a blessing, but we have to be committed. Many a times, the enemy has us to believe that everything is okay or that God is not releasing His blessing on us but the fact is we are not resisting the devil and taking what is rightfully ours by faith.
God releases His provisions step by step according to our obedience. After God tells us to do something then He waits for us to complete that task. It took Abraham 20 years before his promise was fulfilled. What was happening in between? There was a journey in which Abraham was growing in faith and learning obedience. Stop sleep walking in your Christian life as we could drift away from God’s plan. Let us be responsible to fulfill the calling God has on our lives. Let us be firm in our commitment to God
And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.” So the people of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and they served the Lord only. 1 SAMUEL 7:3-4 ESV

Let us not compromise in our walk with the Lord either. God wants us to follow Him wholeheartedly. We cannot mix our life with God and the world. The world and worldly wisdom has to be overcome.

Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? EZEKIEL 18:31 ESV

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Deuteronomy 30:19

There are many children of God who were called for the great commission who could not fulfill or missed their calling. If we do not stand strong on the Word of God and in the Kingdom of God then very easily we can become like the prodigal son in the Bible. Let us take heed and be encouraged to be faithful to who is always faithful to us.

Sovereignty and Responsibility

Sovereignty and Responsibility

SOVEREIGNTY  PLUS  RESPONSIBILITY

Miles J. Stanford
Concerning God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility in the realm of soteriology, Covenant theology stresses God’s sovereignty, and eliminates man’s responsibility. [1] Covenant Calvinism correctly maintains the doctrine of Total Depravity: “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing” (Rom. 7:18).  But their definition of total depravity is “total inability.” For this their proof text is Ephesians 2:1: “And you hath He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.”  Their illustration of this total inability is a man physically dead, who cannot see, hear, speak or move.   Hence he is totally unable to respond to God in any way–he cannot believe. Holding Fast the Profession of Faith

Hebrews 4:14

Jesus the Great High Priest
14Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

Enemy hinders the profession of or will not allow you to hold on to Faith, identify his voice and get back everything the enemy has stolen

Great High Priest.
What is the Profession
Faith overcomes the world

Hebrews 4:2

For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

Gospel alone will not do but Gospel+Faith
Faith will produce Works or Faith will produce a Vision which will speak to you and produce the works

Hebrews 6:12

And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end,12so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Slothfull weapon of the enemy it makes you lazy, Holy Spirit wants you to be deligent, a working faith

Faith+Patiance inherit promises
Patiance will make you know Jesus personally

Pray the prayer of faith Vision is for a Set time.
More Specific your Vision and Write it down

Hebrews 12:15

15See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled

Deligent, arrow of the devil is bitterness that is you get a problem and you think it is God who is giving the trouble but it is actually the enemy. If you are not deligent in this Grace of god then the enemy will brink bitterness

Hebrews 2:1

Warning Against Neglecting Salvation
1Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

devil wants you to slip and let it go & give up. For the Vision sake you will not die

Hebrews 2:17.18

Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Even when you mess up with sin still He shows mercy and let you go on the race. Abraham failed or messed up still.
Doubt fear and unbelief=== guilt shame and condemnation

What you don’t claim you will loose, you cannot let go… You have to fight the fight of faith by Holding Fast the Profession of Faith

Hebrews 3:6-19 ESV

but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,

“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,

on the day of testing in the wilderness,

where your fathers put me to the test

and saw my works for forty years.

Therefore I was provoked with that generation,

and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart;

they have not known my ways.’

As I swore in my wrath,

‘They shall not enter my rest.'”Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said,

“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
