Commitment to fulfill God’s Call
Ps 24:6-9
6Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah 7 Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! 9Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Here we are asked to lift up our heads in other words wake up from your sleep. God has great things for us to restore and to be a blessing, but we have to be committed. Many a times, the enemy has us to believe that everything is okay or that God is not releasing His blessing on us but the fact is we are not resisting the devil and taking what is rightfully ours by faith.
God releases His provisions step by step according to our obedience. After God tells us to do something then He waits for us to complete that task. It took Abraham 20 years before his promise was fulfilled. What was happening in between? There was a journey in which Abraham was growing in faith and learning obedience. Stop sleep walking in your Christian life as we could drift away from God’s plan. Let us be responsible to fulfill the calling God has on our lives. Let us be firm in our commitment to God
And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.” So the people of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and they served the Lord only. 1 SAMUEL 7:3-4 ESV
Let us not compromise in our walk with the Lord either. God wants us to follow Him wholeheartedly. We cannot mix our life with God and the world. The world and worldly wisdom has to be overcome.
Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? EZEKIEL 18:31 ESV
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. Deuteronomy 30:19
There are many children of God who were called for the great commission who could not fulfill or missed their calling. If we do not stand strong on the Word of God and in the Kingdom of God then very easily we can become like the prodigal son in the Bible. Let us take heed and be encouraged to be faithful to who is always faithful to us.
